Joe Tynes plays synthesizer and MPC with Konjur Collective. An avid listener of 90s Hip-Hop and super-producer/legend J-Dilla, Joe began playing synthesizer in 2019 and added MPC to his repertoire shortly thereafter. Born in Baltimore and raised in Hanover, MD, he graduated from Salisbury University and the University of Maryland, Baltimore with a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Social Work, respectively. When he came back to Baltimore, he chose to dedicate himself to several communities and in the process began to harness his creative aesthetic & vibrancy he always knew lied within. Professionally, he serves Baltimore communities as an adjunct professor, a community school coordinator, and an entrepreneurial ecosystem builder. Artistically, he is learning as he grows in revolutionary thought and action.

Bashi began playing the drum-kit as a creative tool for mental/spiritual healing and as a bridge between the spirit and physical world— connecting him to his ancestors.  In 2019 he was honored to play drum-kit on the Ocean Bridges album with the legend Archie Shepp.

In 2018 he cofounded Konjur Collective which incorporates the talents of a host of musicians and artists forming a creative mash-up of high-level artistic expression for the advancement of experimental, radical, spiritual, and improvisational Black Music and culture.

Tracey Beale is an artist, jewelry designer and vocalist based in Baltimore, Maryland.  Her artwork consists of handmade contemporary jewelry and metal wall art; a collection of modern relics inspired by ancient, tribal articles of adornment. For several years, she worked as an experiential jewelry artist for national concert tours featuring, The Roots, John Legend, Busta Rhymes and A Tribe Called Quest.

In 2018 she joined the experimental music group, Konjur Collective, kickstarting her music and performance journey. The group’s improvisational approach is the perfect opportunity to express her affinity towards creating vocal soundscapes and ethereal lyrics.

Tracey holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Maryland Institute College of Art. She taught art and jewelry workshops for youth and adults in New Orleans, LA and Wiesbaden, Germany. Her strong connection to spirit informs all of her work. She thanks God and her family for her innovative spirit and unwavering support.

Omnia Azar is an ever-evolving artist, vocalist, musician, teacher, holistic health practitioner, and student of life. Hailing from Michigan, Omnia began performing at an early age, singing, dancing, and playing violin, flute and oboe, all of which she continues to do today. While attending Western Michigan University for her Bachelor’s in Marketing, she began singing professionally as a background vocalist, which led her to being a part of opening acts for Dwele, Chico DeBarge, Avery Sunshine and Sunshine Anderson.

In 2013, Omnia moved to Baltimore, to follow her dreams, embarking upon her solo career, which she totally attributes to Spirit. Since then, Omnia has made her mark as a celestial powerhouse, featuring in Bmore Art magazine, headlining two of Baltimore’s biggest festivals Light City & Artscape, opening for hip-hop legends KRS-One & GZA, and her most recent visual work in the Black Femme Supremacy Film Festival.

Omnia joined Konjur Collective in 2018.

Jamal R. Moore is a native of Baltimore, Maryland, multi-instrumentalist, composer/performer and educator. His background includes California Institute of The Arts (M.F.A. 2012), Berklee College of Music (B.M 2005), Eubie Blake Jazz Orchestra (2000) under the direction of Christopher Calloway Brooks and historical, acclaimed Frederick Douglass Sr. High where notable alumni Thurgood Marshall, Cab Calloway, and Ethel Ennis graduated. Some notable luminaries Jamal has worked with are Wadada Leo Smith (2013 Pulitzer finalist), Nicole Mitchell, Sabir Mateen, Roscoe Mitchell, David Ornette Cherry (Organic Roots Nation), Tomeka Reid, Dr. Bill Cole, DJ Lou Gorbea, George Duke, Sheila E, David Murray, JD Parran, Ras Moshe, Tatsua Nakatani, Hamid Drake and Yahyah Abdul Majid (Sun Ra Arkestra). Jamal currently leads his own groups, Akebulan Arkestra, Napata Strings, Black Elements Quartet, Organix Trio, and Interstellar Duo. “As musicians we are healers of humanity and have a responsibility to cleanse dis-ease through positive tones, frequencies and vibrations. Music is the nucleus and universal language of the oversoul, mind, body and spirit.”
