Baltimore Black Dance Collective Inc. is a 501C3 non-profit organization that knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. Back in 2019, our organization realized that there was something within the Baltimore dance community that was missing. For us and many others, that was the lack of representation & support of Black Dance artists and dance companies in the local arts scene.

Being Black Dance artists ourselves, we decided it was time to shift what the Baltimore arts scene knows and experiences from Black Dance artist from across genres; from both seasoned & emerging dance artist as well as young dancers in the beginning of their training.
By working together as co-funders, we strive to offer guidance, support, and visibility to Black Dance artists in the Baltimore area in order to share & preserve the legacy and history that exists & is continuing to develop here to day.
The Pennsylvania Avenue Black Arts & Entertainment District is THE choice destination for high-quality arts, culture, food, and entertainment in Baltimore.
We imagine the Black Femme as a global protagonist and universal archetype. And we screen films of any genre that center Black Femme protagonists or are made by Black Femme filmmakers.
