The Giving Circle brings people together to pool resources for greater impact. Members join a shared journey of learning, collective giving, and decision-making about where funds should be invested. Our focus is on supporting Black-led organizations in Greater Baltimore, so that the flow of resources is intentional, strategic, and community-led.
Anyone who believes in equity, community power, and collective responsibility is welcome. Whether you are new to philanthropy or experienced in giving, the circle is a space where every voice, every perspective, and every contribution matters.
When we give together, our impact multiplies. Participating allows us to increase the scale of our support, learn from each other, deepen connections with Black-led organizations, and experiment with participatory, powerful models of funding. It is a living way to reimagine philanthropy rooted in shared values, accountability, and community care.
Members pool their time, talent, and treasure to support multiple organizations across the region. In recent years, CLLCTIVLY has invested over $1 million into Black-led social change organizations, in part through the Giving Circle mechanism. The Giving Circle introduces new donors to grassroots leaders and fosters a sense of shared ownership over the work of building an equitable future. Each year, 40 % of the pooled fund is allocated by the Liberatory Grantmaking Review Committee, 40 % goes to groups members choose in alignment with the vision, and 20 % supports CLLCTIVLY’s operations.
